Upper Endoscopy

Upper Endoscopy (EGD):

A minimally invasive procedure to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as ulcers, inflammation, or tumors.

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure utilizing specialized instruments, known as endoscopes, to examine internal organs. At CIDS, we offer Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy using a gastroscope to assess the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. This procedure, performed with or without anesthesia, ensures patient comfort through pre-procedural measures such as oral cavity numbing with lignocaine gargles or spray.

Exclusive Service: Painless Endoscopy under Conscious Sedation:

CIDS  offers the exclusive service of painless endoscopy under conscious sedation. Conscious sedation ensures that you remain comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure, minimizing any discomfort or anxiety associated with endoscopy. Our experienced team carefully monitors your vital signs and adjusts sedation levels to ensure your safety and well-being.

Preparation for Endoscopy:

Prior to your endoscopy, you will be advised to abstain from eating or drinking for eight hours. Certain medications, such as blood thinners and anti-diabetic medications, may need to be temporarily stopped, following your doctor's guidance. This precaution minimizes the risk of bleeding during the procedure.

Complications of Endoscopy:

While endoscopy is generally safe, some patients may experience mild throat discomfort or chest pain post-procedure. Our healthcare team ensures your safety and comfort throughout the process, closely monitoring vital signs and addressing any concerns promptly.
