Dr. Abhinav Kumar is a renowned Interventional Gastroenterologist and Transplant Hepatologist with over nine years of extensive clinical and academic experience in digestive health, liver disease, and advanced endoscopic procedures. He combines therapeutic endoscopy, complex ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and liver transplant expertise to provide world-class care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
An alumnus of Ramaiah Medical College – Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, Dr. Abhinav received the “Dr. K. N. Sharma Award” for Best Outgoing Postgraduate in Internal Medicine, recognizing his clinical excellence and academic distinction.

He completed a year-long fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy at the prestigious Pentax Center of Excellence-Ramaiah Medical college in Bengaluru, where he gained expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures. Dr.Abhinav Kumar further enhanced his knowledge and skills by undertaking a High-Volume Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Vinay Dhir at IDL Care Mumbai, a renowned center for gastrointestinal care.
Driven by a commitment to excellence, Dr.Abhinav kumar pursued additional training in Advanced Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at one of Asia's largest Liver transplant centers. This comprehensive fellowship provided him with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in managing complex liver diseases and performing liver transplant procedures.

Heartburn and Acid Reflux (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, GERD): Chronic reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn, regurgitation, and chest pain.
Stomach Ulcers (Peptic Ulcers): Open sores that develop on the inner lining of the stomach or small intestine, often caused by infection with H. pylori bacteria or long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Stomach Inflammation (Gastritis): Inflammation of the stomach lining, which can be acute or chronic and may result from infections, alcohol use, NSAID use, or autoimmune diseases.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Chronic inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract, including Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis, characterized by symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and weight loss.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by abdominal pain or discomfort, bloating, and changes in bowel habits without evidence of structural or biochemical abnormalities.
Celiac Disease: Autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten consumption, leading to damage to the small intestine and impaired nutrient absorption.
Gallbladder Issues: Conditions such as gallstones (cholelithiasis) and inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis), which can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and jaundice.
Pancreatitis: Inflammation of the pancreas, which can be acute or chronic and is often associated with symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever.
Liver Cirrhosis: Chronic liver disease characterized by the replacement of healthy liver tissue with scar tissue (fibrosis), leading to liver dysfunction and complications such as portal hypertension, ascites, and hepatic encephalopathy.
Hepatitis: Inflammation of the liver, which can be caused by viral infections (Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E), alcohol consumption, autoimmune diseases, medications, and toxins.
Fatty Liver Disease (Non-alcoholic and Alcoholic): Accumulation of fat in the liver cells, which can lead to liver inflammation (steatohepatitis), fibrosis, and cirrhosis. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is associated with obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, while alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD) results from excessive alcohol consumption.
Liver Cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Cholangiocarcinoma): Cancerous tumors that develop in the liver or bile ducts, often associated with chronic liver disease (cirrhosis) or viral hepatitis.
Hemochromatosis: Inherited disorder causing excessive absorption of dietary iron, leading to iron overload in various organs, including the liver, heart, and pancreas.
